We first met Piriya at her sister Sharmi’s wedding and were thrilled when she called us to do her wedding aslo. As you see, Srilankan weddings are very colourful with lots and lots of surprising stuff happening, such as dance battles between the bride and groom’s team, some extravagant plays by family and friends and a fun car ride outside the venue.
We arrived around 11 to the beautiful venue “Domaine de Sainte Claire” decorated amazingly with gorgeous flowers of “Atelier-fleuriste” one of the best flourists in town. Elodie the wedding planner of “Jeevan,“organised everything on point days before the wedding. We work very well together with great coordination.
Piriya and Prasanth were getting ready in two different rooms with their close family and friends. They were all so lovely with the colourful theme and dazziling flowers. Piriya was stunning with her white gown from “Belle pour son mariage” and Prasanth was looking sharp with his green suit from ” Blandin & Delloye“.
They have this tradition that once they are ready they all get in the cars and go around with coulered smoke bombs and while honking their horns for their bride and groom. They brought them to the ceremony to say their vows and exchange rings. It was an extatic ceremony and the releasing of white balloons at the end was simply wonderful.
Just after the ceremony we captured all the family photos, had the couple shoot and caught some cool pictures with the bridesmaids and groomsmen before heading to the cocktail hour. That’s where all the dance battles started. It was very cool, energetic and fun. We loved it but it wasn’t over yet. They continued surprising everyone with more and more dance choreographies during diner. Truly, it felt like being in the midst of a Bollywood movie.
The food was scrumptiously delicious, prepared by “Taxi bar,” an extraordinary catering company.
After all the amusing events, we left the wedding while the dance party continued on with everyone on the dance floor.
We wish you both long years of happiness and love.
